Ways to Prepare For Your Reiki Session

 

  • Speak with your practitioner about how the session will be conducted, especially if you are new to Reiki.

  • Eat organically, or at least as cleanly as possible, the day of your treatment.

  • Avoid alcohol or recreational drugs at least 2 days before your session.

  • Trust your practitioner. Take some time to speak with them so you are comfortable.

  • Consult with your practitioner prior to your treatment regarding the areas to be worked on. Your reminder call is a perfect time to do this!

  • Be honest when filling out intake paperwork. Even if you think something is unimportant, it may help your practitioner.

  • Notify your practitioner if you have any changes in your condition as soon as possible. This will ensure you are receiving the most informed treatment possible.

  • Keep a journal.

  • Take a shower, but refrain from heavily scented soaps, perfumes, sprays, or jewelry. It is helpful to wear loose, comfortable clothes.

  • Take deep breaths - for about 5-10 min before the Reiki session

  • Drink 2-3 glasses of water before the Reiki session.

  • Let go of expectation. Reiki energy knows how to help you with the highest intent and will cause no harm.

  • Understand that healing is a process. It takes time!

  • If you are religious, pray.
